How to Make Animated Stickers of Yourself

1. Choose a clear photo

Use a well-lit portrait with one person and a visible face. A front-facing photo works best. Include your hairstyle, glasses or other accessories you want the model to see. Upload PNG, JPEG or WebP up to 5 MB, with permission from the person pictured.

2. Turn the photo into a cartoon character

Choose a platform and submit your first sticker task. That task creates the cartoon character and its first animated reaction. Character creation is included in this task; it is not a separate free avatar export.

3. Save the character

The completed character is saved to your account. You can keep up to 20 characters and select an existing one when creating another sticker, without uploading the original photo again.

4. Choose reactions

Choose one or several reactions in the maker. Every selected reaction is a separate sticker task. Add an optional caption if you want, then review your selection before creating.

These reactions are available in the WhatsApp, Telegram and Discord makers. WeChat has its own reaction selection.

5. Choose the chat platform

Choose WhatsApp, WeChat, Telegram or Discord before submitting. Each maker produces the formats and dimensions configured for that destination. A file made for one platform may not fit another platform unchanged.

6. Download the correct format

Download the finished original file rather than saving a screenshot or forwarding a preview. Use the primary file below for the corresponding workflow. File compliance does not guarantee acceptance by every app version or importer; StickersMaker does not provide one-click import.

7. Can I reuse the same character?

Yes. Select your saved character for another reaction on any of the four platforms. You do not need to upload the original photo each time. Selecting a character is free, but each new sticker costs 10 credits. Generated facial details, clothing and animation can still vary.

8. Does the background stay transparent?

The supported animated output formats preserve transparent regions. GIF supports fully transparent or opaque pixels; animated WebP supports partial alpha for softer edges. Check the original animation on light and dark backgrounds. Screenshots, viewers and third-party importers can change how transparency appears.

9. Is StickersMaker free?

Email verification unlocks a one-time 20-credit welcome gift, enough for 2 stickers at 10 credits each. New reactions use credits even when you reuse a character. Buy credits when needed, with no recurring subscription. Confirmed failed generations return their credits automatically.
